Comments & Case Studies

Here are a selection of comments and case studies that our clients have provided to highlight the successes of a variety of interventions

Qualitative Comments:

We held a ‘weigh yourself every week at work’ initiative. This helped me focus on my food intake and exercise and I reduced weight by 7 pounds over 12 weeks. Helpful tips were given each week and extra exercise (e.g. cycle trips) were laid on during period, making it a lot easier than normal to take the weight down.

Dragon-boating! Fun, good for team-building, good excuse to get outside and be active.

I have started walking 3 miles every day as well as taking part in aerobic activity 3 times a week. I have altered my diet and have so far reduced my weight by 10lbs in 6 weeks. Now I just need to go shopping and buy some new clothes as the old ones don’t fit properly!!

The FFB interventions run onsite have made me aware of lifestyle issues and as a result have been using the onsite gym and other facilities to improve my lifestyle, health and mental well-being.

I am quite fit and healthy anyway but this initiative has given me the opportunity to get involved with physical activity through work. I am aware of well publicised health problems but some of the issues that have been raised through the scheme have increased my awareness.

Regular walks on a Wednesday, five a day initiatives such as fresh fruit for staff, attendance at our own weight watching club and generally making staff aware of how to keep healthy and fit. I am now taking up yoga and walking more, cutting down on bread and fats and watch my diet more closely and it has been fun!

Eating more fruit and veg (5 a day), drinking sufficient water to maintain concentration and avoid dehydration, exercise helps combat street and helps with mental wellbeing.

Attend yoga class - brilliant! Some of the issues are common sense but occasionally we need to be reminded to do the ‘right things’ - Fit for business gives this gentle reminder / push to take more responsibility for our health and wellbeing. The employer benefits from reduced sickness and better motivated staff.
