A survey in November 2009 was sent to employees from organisations that participated in the Fit For Business, BLF, Wellbeing in the East Project.
Organisations have been participating in the project for as long as 4 years. Responses showed that:

Fit For Business has been a contributing factor to 79% taking positive steps towards exercising for 30 minutes 5 times a week

Fit For Business has been a contributing factor to 89% taking positive steps towards improving their diet

Fit For Business has been contributing factor to 81% taking positive steps towards changing their attitude to life

77% of the whole surveyed population have made a positive lifestyle change through either: increasing physical activity, healthier eating or having a more positive attitude to life directly because of Fit For Business
National Level
Inactive employees are less productive by 5-6 hours per week than active employees

On average, 6 working days of productivity are lost annually for each employee as a result of ‘presenteeism’

Employees perceived that when health and well-being are actively promoted, organisations are seen as 2.5 times more likely to be a best performer & 3 times more likely to be productive (World Economic Forum, 2010)
